Dear Miss Tinée: I would like to find out who is responsible for the musical score that is played through most of the feature films.
I do not see how people can say that they do not hear the music while watching the film!
To me, music brings out the real beauty and talent of the actors and actresses, and when a certain tune is played at intervals throughout the picture it is almost impossible to forget that picture, or the stars in it.
How can any one ever hear "Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms," without immediately seeing Mae Marsh and remembering D.W. Griffith's "Intolerance."
Long live our musicians and may our large orchestras continue. It is worth more than the admission now charged to hear such music. Even the comedy dramas need the correct score played, even if all "rag."
We love the silent drama and the music that goes with it. Save the "talking" for the news events and such.
